As the polar ice melts (more quickly now “admittedly” than ever expected or calculated by scientists) it also shifts from the polar “cap” region into warmer ocean currents which can also accelerate the thaw results that are expected to increase activity along the region of the tectonic plates (Volcanic Eruptions in the Kamchatka region bottom of page) , will in turn cause a marked increase in both earthquake and volcanic activity which may, almost certainly, result in shifts in the planetary orbit rotation inclination (an equatorial leaning that cannnot be good). This has been speculated by observations from Mars and regions of what appears to have been areas also marked by glacial activity or a retreat in the ice pack that also correlates nicely changes of the inclination in the orbit of Mars… Like the lead weights used to balance the tires on your car, there is a balance in nature that can suddenly start to wobble out of our human control. Hollywood paints all kind of various pictures for bad things that can or might go wrong… More often than not its like the Apache we don’t see coming that really does us in.
