Earth Hour

March 29, 2008

Google set their page to jet black as this our dark hour approaches… The moment of truth has arrived but not yet passed and perhaps too late for anything to be done. As we watch the Arctic and Antarctic regions practically disintegrate before our eyes, it is rather surreal… Not sure if you would call it scriptural as in Biblical terms but it does appear as if the days of mankind upon this tiny planet are certainly numbered.

Google has made a commitment to the environment which is significant, if mankind is to survive it will take a united effort on the part of all nations in a manner of cooperation that has never happened. A letter appeared in the psychic mailbag from an organization in an appeal under the banner “Al Gore, Alliance for Climate Protection” and claims to have a membership of almost a million people… Really sounds nice until you understand the entire planet is in this thing together and we can all be in a world of hurt from one well place A-hole and but a mere cow fart away from total destruction.

Actually if this appears a bit negative it only because the situation is dire… Plus we’ve managed to squander vast amount of our national treasure, which is variously described as unnecessary to perhaps the worst policy blunder in American history… Our economy is in a shambles so that window of opportunity to transform into something other than a petroleum based economic structure seems ever more distant and there is something beyond ones own end to being witness to a human tragedy, largely due to entrenched ignorance, that is dismal. One does not have to share a psychic gift but rather the simple ability to read the writing on the wall. A clear understanding of what is at stake is important… Presented in a manner and in message that is concise and unambiguous.

The complete CBS interview with Al Gore.
